WHo we Are

The DML has been producing library music since 1997, specialising in Electronic Dance Music and contemporary youth music, with influences of genres like Hip Hop and Quirky sounds. We are the owners of the niche, UK-renowned dance record label Just Another Label (JAL), which made its first appearance in 1992 – but our resume extends further than that!

We are a collaboration of JAL and its longstanding composers, passionate about providing a service that represents talent that may miss out in the sync side of the music industry. Our backgrounds are all firmly rooted in Electronic Dance Music and Youth Orientated Contemporary Global Sounds.

In 2003 we proudly received an ‘Ivor Novello’ award for ‘The Best Original Music For Television’ for the soundtrack of the first musical documentary ‘Feltham Sings’, produced by our very own Errol Francis. The first broadcast of this iconic doc aired on Channel 4 in 2002.

Diversity and inclusion are core values at DML. We are proud to champion underrepresented talent and provide opportunities for creatives from diverse backgrounds, regardless of their location or experience. Our aim is to foster a music environment where all voices can be heard and represented fairly.

We have global recognition for library music through over 27 years of licensing music for some of the leading names in this field; namely Sonoton GMBH, Lemoncake, APM, Extreme Music, Carlin, Fable, Sony EMI, Warner Chappell, Universal and BMG, amongst others. Through these companies our brand is well established with end users across the globe.

With this wealth of experience, The DML is proud of launching a genre-specific music library, aiming bringing a refreshing difference to the industry, to become the one-stop-shop for Dance, Youth Orientated Contemporary Global & Quirky sounds in the world of library music.

We are committed in promoting sustainable practices within the industry. As part of our eco-friendly approach, we focus on digital-first initiatives, reducing physical production to minimise environmental impact. This aligns with our vision of a greener, more responsible music industry.

We are currently building up our catalogue and are looking for talented people like yourself to submit music and join our network of musical creatives for collaborations.
